Botox® is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A that temporarily blocks the nerve signals responsible for muscle contraction. Injected into targeted facial muscles, it softens dynamic wrinkles, the lines that appear when you frown, squint or raise your eyebrows, such as forehead creases, frown lines and crow’s feet.
Most clients notice softening within 3 to 7 days, with full results around two weeks. Effects generally last 3 to 4 months, depending on your metabolism, muscle strength and the area treated. Your nurse tailors the dose and injection pattern to your face for a natural-looking result.
A Viva licensed RN reviews your health history, maps the treatment areas with you, then administers a series of small injections. The treatment takes about 10 to 15 minutes and you can return to normal activities right away. Avoid strenuous exercise and lying flat for a few hours afterwards.
Botox is given only after your nurse reviews your health history, under physician oversight. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

It depends on the areas treated and your muscle strength. Your nurse confirms the number of units with you before treatment. Botox, Daxxify and Dysport are dosed differently, so units are not interchangeable between products.
