Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a neuromodulator that temporarily blocks the nerve signals telling targeted muscles to contract, softening dynamic lines such as the frown lines between the eyebrows. Its formulation tends to spread evenly across the muscle, which many providers find useful for broader areas like the forehead.
Dysport is known for a quick onset. Many clients notice softened lines within 2 to 3 days, with full effect by day 7 to 10. Results typically last 3 to 4 months. Dysport is dosed differently from Botox, so a treatment uses more units at a lower price per unit.
A Viva licensed RN reviews your health history, maps the treatment areas with you, then administers a series of small injections. The treatment takes about 10 to 15 minutes and you can return to normal activities right away. Avoid strenuous exercise and lying flat for a few hours afterwards.
Dysport is given only after your nurse reviews your health history, under physician oversight. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
